Solution project 1

Project description

The solution project for the orang asli in Kg OA Sungai Olak, Karak, Pahang aims to train and equip the OA to develop sustainable livelihoods through natural farming and a shared prosperity enterprise. Secondly, the objective of this project is to empower OA to mobilize community to protect their environment.

The activity provided in this project is related to agriculture training such as focusing on farm training and environmental awareness, land preparation, farming and planting, usage of fertilizer and harvesting phase.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG opens up opportunity and chances for OA to be able to develop sustainable livelihoods through natural farming.

The project is to benefit Orang Asli Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Olak, Karak build a sustainable livelihood. The solution provider of this project is Yayasan Kajian & Pembangunan Masyarakat. The project duration is six (6) months with an allocation of RM80,000.00.

Solution project 2

Project description

The solution project in Bentong area aims to train the rural community in organic farming. It will comprise the components such as compost making, emerging microbes (EM) and vegetation, setting out of a farm (land clearing, shed, irrigation, nursery, tools), marketing and distribution plan and also accounting and finance.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG opens up opportunity and chances for the targeted beneficiaries to have the knowledge and skills to implement organic farming. Thus, this progress will bring about income enhancement for their families and communities.

The project beneficiaries are senior citizens who are still healthy who are keen in farming and agriculture, youths in rural communities whose income source have been badly affected due to the pandemic and women/housewives who have interests in farming wanting to learn. The solution provider of this project is Persatuan Penggerak Hijau Bentong Pahang. The project duration is three (3) months including with an allocation up to RM20,000.00.

2021 SOLUTION PROJECT - PHASE 2

SOLUTION PROJECT 1

Project description

The schools have closed down during the pandemic, and teaching has been moved to online. However, not many have the technical equipment to access online learning, especially B40 students. Through this program called ‘TAB TO SAP’, 50 students in Bentong, Pahang will be selected for this program.

This program will introduce hands-on experience in environmental work to young students. Students will need to set up a nursery patch at home to nurse 30 (3) saplings for 6 months. Training will be provided by a team of experts. Each participant will be given a tablet and a nursery starter kit. The trainers will conduct 6 sessions of online classes that focus on environmental topics. Participants will need to submit monthly reports.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG educates the youths about the opportunities in agropreneurship and learning about planting management. This will also help to improve awareness among the youths and educate them about sustainable living for a better future ahead.

The solution provider of this project is Persatuan Penggerak Hijau Bentong Pahang. The project duration is six months with an allocation of RM50,000.00.

The main SDGs impacted through this solution project are Goal 2 – Zero Hunger, Goal 4 – Quality Education, Goal 10 – Reduced Inequality, and Goal 13 – Climate Action.
