Due to Covid-19 crisis, women entrepreneurs are suffering large setbacks especially those living in rural areas. The objective of this project is to empower women entrepreneurs in Baling to use technology and apply digital marketing in their businesses. Target groups are also expected to be well equipped with the financial knowledge and techniques to secure business sustainability in the long run.
The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG will provide a comprehensive program that is required to develop women’s entrepreneurship by improving knowledge of technology and encouraging them to incorporate these technologies into their businesses. This will help women entrepreneurs overcome barriers and constraints in gaining access to information, knowledge, skills, conducting business and financial transactions, addressing challenges associated with mobility constraints, accessing new markets, developing new relationships through online meetings and more.
The project is to benefit 25 women entrepreneurs in micro and small businesses in Baling. The second beneficiaries is relevant Malaysia government agencies such as SME Corp.
This solution project will focus on the empowerment of digital marketing and financial management among women entrepreneurs in micro and small enterprises through knowledge transfer that focus on digital marketing, financial management for business, managing business marketing, sales and finances in a more effective and manageable way.
The solution provider of this project is Universiti Utara Malaysia. The project duration is four months with an allocation of RM31,256.00.
The main SDGs impacted through this solution project are Goal 1 – No Poverty, Goal 5 – Gender Equality, Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth and Goal 10 – Reduce inequality within and among countries.
