SOLUTION PROJECT 1

Project description

The solution project for the community in Kampung Rambai, Sg.Tiang, Kampung Nangka Siam, Kelang Besar in Pendang aims to discuss the issues and solutions to community’s problems. Issues related to the community include the retirement and welfare of farmers, waste management system, land ownership issues, replanting issues with FELDA and many others.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG can help to identify local agencies to verify community problems. Dialogue sessions with the agencies involved are very important to convey community problems and subsequently be able to formulate a solution plan to community issues.

The project is to benefit paddy farmers in Kampung Rambai, rubber tappers or settlers in FELDA Sg. Tiang, siamese community in Kampung Nangka Siam and Indian community in Klang Besar. This project will involve discussions with target groups and related agencies, including representatives of Parliament, local authorities and government agencies including the Pejabat Tanah dan Daerah Pendang, FELDA management, MADA, PPK and others.

The solution provider of this project is Pusat Pengajian Ekonomi, Kewangan dan Perbankan (SEFB) dan Pusat Pengajian Undang-Undang (SoL). The project duration is ten (10) months from December 2020 to September 2021 with an allocation of RM20,800.00.

The main SDGs impacted through this solution project are SDG1: No Poverty, SDG3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG10: Reduced Inequalities SDG11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

SOLUTION PROJECT 2

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The EcoTourism & Community-Centered Business Ecosystem Incubation Project, which will benefit 20 orchard farmers, youth, and community leaders, is the best solution for the issues identified in Kampung Linchan Pendang Kedah.

The objectives of The Incubation Project mainly cover to develop 10 years planning for Pendang EcoTourism ecosystem, train local people to get benefits for EcoTourism system and to encourage local people to do business that benefit from the campaign.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG opens up a lot of opportunities and trainings for local people to boost up their economy level by learning on how to develop a plan and learning on how to run a registered business with proper branding in ecotourism and ecosystem. This will indirectly create a lot of job opportunities for youth and will guarantee income source for farmers.

The activities proposed in this project should cover blueprint strategy, Pendang LOKAL Preneur for local people to grab opportunity in ecosystem via idea pitching challenge, launching and also community centered business mentoring with local youths and entrepreneurs.

The solution provider of this project is Muliabudi Consulting PLT with collaborations of Mettle Ark PLT. The project duration is four (4) months from October 2020 to January 2021 with an allocation of RM99,200.00.

The main SDGs impacted through this solution project are SDG1: No Poverty, SDG8: Decent work and economic growth and SDG11: Sustainable cities and communities.

SOLUTION PROJECT 3

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Selected entrepreneurs in Kg. Lincan operates its business with limited resources, limited market accessibility and a lack of management and marketing skills. These shortcomings lead to low productivity and performance.

The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG creates branches and increases the participants’ income from the sales generated via e-commerce and other platforms.

This project also can help in assisting business development, and enhance management and marketing skills whether digital or conventional. By right, these approaches will help the community to generate sustainable income and improve wellbeing through entrepreneurship.

This project provides coaching and mentoring on management and marketing skills to enhance the production capacity, operational efficiency, competitiveness and marketing through a digital platform.

The mentoring module also covers the scope for the business branches through networking, business diversification and opportunities, and products advertised on the website and E-Commerce platform.

The project is to benefit Kg. Lincan entrepreneurs from 10 youth and 2 community leaders (5 male and 5 female). The solution provider of this project is Muliabudi Consulting PLC. The project duration is three months with an allocation of RM50,000.00.

The main SDG impacted through this solution project is Goal 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
