The solution project for the community in Kampung Rambai, Sg.Tiang, Kampung Nangka Siam, Kelang Besar in Pendang aims to discuss the issues and solutions to community’s problems. Issues related to the community include the retirement and welfare of farmers, waste management system, land ownership issues, replanting issues with FELDA and many others.
The solution project funded by the APPGM-SDG can help to identify local agencies to verify community problems. Dialogue sessions with the agencies involved are very important to convey community problems and subsequently be able to formulate a solution plan to community issues.
The project is to benefit paddy farmers in Kampung Rambai, rubber tappers or settlers in FELDA Sg. Tiang, siamese community in Kampung Nangka Siam and Indian community in Klang Besar. This project will involve discussions with target groups and related agencies, including representatives of Parliament, local authorities and government agencies including the Pejabat Tanah dan Daerah Pendang, FELDA management, MADA, PPK and others.
The solution provider of this project is Pusat Pengajian Ekonomi, Kewangan dan Perbankan (SEFB) dan Pusat Pengajian Undang-Undang (SoL). The project duration is ten (10) months from December 2020 to September 2021 with an allocation of RM20,800.00.
The main SDGs impacted through this solution project are SDG1: No Poverty, SDG3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG10: Reduced Inequalities SDG11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
