Building Inclusive Communities and Localizing SDG in Malaysia
The Summit is themed “Building Inclusive Communities and Localizing SDG in Malaysia”. It aims to reach out to young changemakers from across Malaysia to join hands and build an inclusive community, where speakers across Malaysia will share their best practices for building inclusive communities. Activities and workshop sessions have been planned for participants to engage with individuals from across the country and learn about the Sustainable Development Goals.
We are calling all courageous youth in Malaysia, aged 30 years old and below, to take action in supporting the Global Goals by acknowledging the work being done and striving towards completing the goals together.
Are you a passionate youth who is interested to learn the SDGs? Join the Summit to connect with the local champions and take action to implement the global goals.
This workshop session is specially catered to the Malaysian Youth SDG Agent 23/24 Cohort – A pitch session will be held by the teams that have partaked in the SDG Agent workshop from 7-10 to stakeholders for seed funding. Projects proposed are SDG themed projects that will be undertaken to be localised.
This workshop will give an expanding experience to “Discover the Power of Media for a Sustainable Future”. Join us in this workshop to explore how media can make a difference in sustainability. We’ll focus on using visuals to communicate effectively, learning practical ways to manage information and incorporate visuals. Gain the skills to inspire change and contribute to inclusive communities. Understand the dynamics of living in a technologically developing world and the utility of media to bridge the gaps of social exclusion and build inclusive communities.
This workshop session exemplifies how participants can play a role to foster inclusive communities through various sport organizations. Speakers will share on the importance of developing human potential through para sports (Paralympic Council Malaysia), nurturing people with intellectual disabilities (Special Olympic Selangor) and empowering young athletes through inclusive leadership opportunities (iLEAP).
This workshop provides participants an enlightening and experiential learning opportunity to experience the lives of those with special needs/differently abled. Parallel stations will be prepared to engage participants in various activities that would equip them with knowledge, gain insight as well as connect with the differently abled communities . It will be a valuable exposure to our youth and empowers them with a climate of acceptance and a deep understanding of overcoming barriers in order to create and develop inclusive communities.
